Edith Cardigan

Image
This is another WIP (work in progress).  I purchased the book on Amazon.  It's by Quince & Co yarns.  This is the first book, I've purchased, that I love all the projects!!! The yarn I'm using is Plymouth Homestead, 100% Wool, in color 008-Federal Blue.  I just love this yarn and hope it doesn't get discontinued.  This is an oversized cardigan and very simple.  NO BUTTONS!!!  LOL  Here's the link to Ravelry, if you want to see more finished cardigans. http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/edith-9 I love the detail on the back.

This is a WIP (work in progress).  I'm using Knitting Fever Painted Desert fingering weight yarn, in colors #22-Sweet Rainbow and #02-Spring Green, on a US 3 needle.  I love the combination.  Free Ravelry download. http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/zickzack-scarf This is what happens when you leave your project unattended for just 5 minutes!!!!  I have a cat that just loves my yarns.

Eden Fells Scarf

I just got around to taking a bunch of pictures.  I just finished this last Friday.  It's a very nice pattern.  I knit a lot of Helen Stewart's patterns.  This is called EDEN FELLS SCARF and is a FREE Ravelry download.  Most of her patterns you have to pay for.  They are worth it, though. http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/search#sort=best&craft=knitting&query=eden%20fells%20scarf   Scarf is knit in Berocco Ultra Alpaca-Lavender Mix color.

RIP Zander - 2004-2015

On Feb 2nd of this year, we lost our feral cat. He had just turned 12 y.o. in Jan.   I had adopted him in 2010, from our town shelter.  He had been living there for 6 years.  The Animal Control Officer wanted him to live out the rest of his life in a home.  I went to the shelter to adopt a cat they featured in a Free newspaper and came home with Zander. It was an adjustment.  He was afraid of everything.  He stayed under our bed for 6 months.  He did come out to eat and go to the litter box.  We couldn't get near him.  He eventually got use to the house and the other cats and dog. He was never "my" cat.  He always seemed to be afraid of me.  He got very attached to my Husband and eventually ended up his lap cat.  Zander ended up loving to get brushed by me and my Husband.  He let me pet him only if he was on my Husband's lap.  He was a very laid back kitty.  He was very quiet and minded his own business.  He had the loudest PURR, we have ever heard in a c

My Husband surprised me by buying two new books for me.   This ANSWER BOOK, I use a lot. It just so happens, that, the Author of this book, Leslie Ann Bestor, is coming next month to our local yarn shop.  So, I will have her sign the book.  Thanks honey for buying the books for me!!!!!

Darkside Cowl

I love the results of this cowl!!!  :)  I used Plymouth Baby Alpaca Brush #1000 in color Natural and Rozetti Polaris #92001 in the color Radiant.  I cast on 120 stitches instead of what it called for. Easy for beginners. Free Ravelry download:      http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/darkside-cowl

Husband's Knee Replacement Surgery

My Husband had the surgery on Feb. 11th.  It's been a month and 4 days.  He is still in a lot of pain.  I don't see him going back to work full-time after he sees the Dr. on the 24th.  My Husband thinks he's going back to work on the 25th.  We'll see.   It's been quite a process, I must say.  He had a lot of trouble getting approved for Celebrex & Lyrica after being discharged from the hospital.  The insurance company took it's sweet time approving it.  The Celebrex took 2 weeks and the Lyrica took just about a month. His advise to anyone who is in need of this surgery is:  Wait as lot as you can't stand it anymore.
